Our Blacksmith Shop is well equipped for Family Campers to practice the art of working with metal. We use hand cranked forges, hammers and anvils, to form iron into useful and beautiful objects.It takes patience and finesse, along with lots of practice, to become a skilled Blacksmith. During Family Camp, we introduce interested participants to blacksmithing basics: safety, firing the forge, heating and shaping iron into simple objects.
Located next door to the Blacksmith Shop, Family Campers will find the Bar 717 Ranch Welding Shop with Arc, MIG, and Oxy-Acetylene welding equipment. Depending on interest, our staff can open the Welding Shop for Family Campers to try their hand at welding.
